About Me...

My name is Melissa Rothmel, founder of Rothmel Reading Roots. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Reading. I have worked for the School District of Palm Beach County for the past 17 years. The first six years were spent teaching second and third grade and being a school-based Reading Coach. I am currently in an administrator role as a Literacy Specialist, which is where I have flourished for the last eleven years of my career. My role as a Literacy Specialist involves creating district-wide professional developments, training and coaching teachers, modeling literacy instruction, writing literacy curriculum, and creating district-wide resources. My passion is in differentiated small group instruction. I believe that every child deserves to have a strong foundation in literacy.
